The first round kicks off on Saturday, August 9, with doors opening at 10:15 AM. Fans are in for an action-packed day, featuring four high-stakes matches. Two of these will spotlight the Philippines:

  • Game 1 at 11:10 AM:
    National Chengchi University (Chinese Taipei), the WUBS 2023 champions, will take on De La Salle University (Philippines) in what promises to be a thrilling opening match.
  • Game 4 at 5:10 PM:

Game Format and Bench Protocols

WUBS follows a tournament format with both winner’s and loser’s brackets, allowing each team to fight their way back to the top. A total of 11 games will be played over 3 days—four games each on Days 1 and 2, and three on Day 3. Matches will follow FIBA competition rules, with certain localized modifications.
Bench locations are determined based on the match card. The team listed on the left will be seated on the right side of the court (when facing the official table), while the team on the right will be seated on the left.

Ticket Information and Venue Access

The venue for all matches is the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium, located in the heart of Shibuya, Tokyo. For fans planning to attend:

  • Same-Day Tickets are available with an additional ¥600 charge.
  • Only general pricing applies (no student discounts).
  • Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth near the venue or online via the official website.

Floor-level seats—including Bench Side, Court Side, and Court End—may change after each game. Even if you have a ticket for multiple games on the same day, you’ll need to exit and re-enter the venue for each game.

Family and Group Guidelines

WUBS promotes a family-friendly atmosphere. Children of elementary school age or younger can enter free of charge, but must be accompanied by a guardian aged 18 or older. Each guardian may bring up to two children, and identification may be required at the entrance.
In addition, each person may purchase up to 20 tickets, making it easy for large groups or school organizations to attend.
